The Head Start Family Services Coordinator is to be responsible for the on-going planning, development, implementation, and coordination of the WCCA Head Start Family and Community Partnership Services.
This position assists in ensuring that the program complies with Head Start Performance Standards regarding Family Services, DHS regulations, and MDE regulations.
This position is responsible for identifying families and children in need and supervises WCCA Head Start activities designed to meet identified needs, such as parent engagement, family services, and community partnerships.
This is a full-time year round position with full-benefits offered.
Education and Experience Bachelor's Degree in the field of Social Services, Human Services, or a related field.
Recent work experience in the identification of family needs and the provision or coordination of family services for low-income families with young children.
Must meet State Licensing requirements for background studies, CPR, First Aid, and Child Passenger Safety.
Required Skills and Abilities Must be able to work comfortably with children and their parents and families from diverse backgrounds.
Ability to supervise personnel and selected contract services.
Ability to coordinate the provision of essential family services with other service providers in the community.
Must possess strong communication skills and be well organized.
Ability to prepare written plans, related operational documents, and reports.
Must be able to utilize and operate computers in daily operations.
Ability to establish and maintain an accurate, up to date record and data tracking system for service activities.
Must have access to transportation for regular local business travel.
Successful completion of the Family Service Credential.
Understanding of the use of data for continuous quality improvement.
